CRACKING NEWS FOR CHRISTMAS - A BRAND NEW SPEEDMASTER SM 102

We have some cracking news to share with all of our customers and prospects just before the Christmas period, a new Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 102 Press is being installed.

For you, the customer, this new investment will bring our productivity to the highest achievable turnaround times and quality will reach the absolute optimum, setting Orchard Press even further apart, both locally and nationally.

We are proud to become B1 printers and have updated our pre-press technology accordingly. "This fantastic machine is built with the customer in mind," says Adrian Williams, Managing Director. "Orchard Press holds firm relationships with it's customers and by investing in the best machinery whilst staying a small family-run company we can meet their needs and exceed their expectations. Orchard Press is proud to be able to achieve an investment on this scale in these tough economic times and it is testament to the loyal support we have from our satisfied customers. We will be operating the new press on a double day shift allowing us to keep up with turnaround demand. The new press will reduce the amount of ink and consumables we currently use and reduce paper waste to almost zero, thus benefiting our environmental activities, whilst allowing us to remain fiercely competitive and produce a greater quantity of work than we currently can, with even more striking results."

Orchard Press is the 1st printing company outside of Germany to have the Wash Cloth System. This reduces chemical usage by up to 90%. There are so many benefits to this new press that we had to narrow them down to the most impressive:

* Prinect Impress Control - to reduce paper waste to almost zero
* PowderStar - to cut powder consumption by up to 30%
* CleanStar - to cut powder particles in the air by up to 80%
* AirStar - to cut power consumption by up to 50%
* CombiStar - to maintain temperature and cut waste
* InkLine - for reduced ink consumption.

Cleaning Up Our Paper Waste

Here at Orchard Press we like to be at the forefront of technology, and as an environmentally conscience Print company, we've invested in a Paper Trim/Waste Extraction System that will enable us to meet and exceed our targets for reducing emissions.

The new Extraction System was installed by KEE Environmental Ltd who were recommended by our waste merchant, Printwaste Limited.

Bob Williams, Orchard Press Director explains, "It provides trim extraction from our guillotine and trimmer. Our print finishing processes lead to a build up of low density solid waste. The new system allows for immediate removal of this waste from the factory floor which opens up the work area giving us improved production efficiency. It also helps us achieve our waste management targets as the paper has a value as a reclaimed material and means less visits from Printwaste to take the waste away."

A recent opportunity with Worcester College of Technology has meant we have just printed their 2011/2012 part-time course guide, highlighting the College facilities and all its courses available.
