The ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. It applies to the processes that create and control the services and products an organisation supplies. It prescribes control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met.

The Forest Stewardship Council

Orchard Press is proud to have achieved another goal in our list of environmental initiatives in our recent certification with FSC (The Forest Stewardship Council and PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes).

Pre-press

Topsetter

Technology can never stand still - especially in our Pre-press Department.

We are fully equipped with the latest Heidelberg Prinect Pre-press interface, which links up to our Printing department.

The Prinect Printready software takes customer files in all formats and converts them to PDF, where we then send to our high-speck digital Epson 7800 Printer. This has been colour calibrated to our presses to give closed loop colour presentation, giving the customer complete satisfaction and 'peace of mind'.

We can then handle any amendments you wish to make before proceeding to plate. Once you are completely happy with your job we will then send it to our fully-automated Heidelberg CTP Topsetter, which produces the plates ready to put straight onto one of our presses.

We can also offer you "the complete package" if you require our modern, dynamic design services.

We are happy if our customers wish to send their artwork in PDF format. This can save time as you don't need to supply us with the necessary fonts and images used in your job. The job size is reduced and many customers simply send their PDF's via email.

When supplying us PDFs please bear in mind the following:

We print at a high resolution of 250dpi as standard.
We prefer to work with composite PDFs
Please include crop marks and at least a 3mm bleed
Remember to centre the document
Change RGBs to CMYK
Include all fonts and images when saving your PDF.

All our Proofs now meet the FOGRA 39 Standard. This is an equal standard of proofing that is designed to run alongside ISO 12647-2 for Printing.

Now all our customers can be confident that Orchard Press will produce an accurate reproduction of their work.
