Our 10 Colour Press is a first for Gloucestershire. With a maximum sheet size of 740x530 and a running speed of 15000 iph it really is a highly productive machine.

There are many benefits for the customer. Being able to print up to five colours each side in one pass is fantastic in terms of turnaround time and saving you money. The consistency of colour is also second to none, resulting in a product that is far better than if it were printed on a conventional five or six colour press. The reason being that on a 2 pass printer you get sheet stretch and a build-up of dust particles on the return run. I can tell you - as an experienced Printer of 20 years - that this has a major impact on print quality and any salesman who leads you to believe different has obviously never run a printing machine.

Linked to our 10 Colour Press is Image Control. This guarantees colour consistency to our preferred standard of ISO 12467-2. We can set-up customer's preferred curves but this defeats the object of ISO standard.

An important fact also is this machine uses the same power consumption as a 5 colour press because they will only print 1 side at a time. As an environmentally conscious printer isn't this enough of a reason to give us a call?

You will be impressed with the outstanding quality and early delivery of your job.

Technical Information on ISO 12647

ISO 12647-2:2004 standard has been created as an international standard that sets a series of tight guidelines for reproducing colour across the reprographic and printing workflow. The specifications can be bought from the International Standards Organisation at www.iso.org. It contains detailed information to instill confidence in this standard, and allows print managers and publishers to convey exactly how they want their project to be reproduced. This keeps the workflow running smoothly from creative to pre-press to printing, where all too often misunderstandings can crop up and cause interference. The result is an improvement in colour consistency and less waste as digital information, proofs and printing are all brought together.

Specific parameters have to be followed and verified. The specification has targets and measurement settings for every process including different paper types. Manufacturing variables have been taken into account when defining each target.

The latest ISO printing specifications uses the CIElab model and Spectrophotometry to target solid colour measurement readings, to replace density weights which is traditionally used on press ink measurement.
The main reason for this change is to tackle the differences in printing with different inks, as they all have differing properties.
